Grandma, i remember when you said you would make me and craig some dinner on one particular time we came to visit you at home in Settle. We got to yours and i was looking forward to some of your home cooked food. We got to yours and you were dishing me and Craig our dinner up. I peered over and realised you had made a big homemade cornish pasty. i had been a vegetarian at this point for at least 17 years, haha. You insisted on making me an alternative which was a "ginger" cheese sandwich. I, as you found out after hated "ginger" cheese but not wanting to turn my nose up at your food twice in half an hour i attempted to eat it. I can remember how sick it made me feel but was all too aware of how much you hated waste. Every time you went out of the room i treied to force feed Craig a bit more of my sandwich, haha. Eventually though, by which time i felt sick from the sandwich i said i was full and binned the rest of it. Haha. Luckily though i did tell you aftyer that that i didnt like "ginger" cheese. This was just one of many little food stories that happened with you and that tickle me every time i think of them. I remember you started trying vegetarian foods and you even tried diet coke as you knew i liked it. I think you were curious as to what the appeal of it was to me, you didnt like it though, haha. But every time i came to see you there would be two cans waiting for me at the side of the washer. Thats what kind of Grandma you are. You took on board what we liked and disliked and always made an effort to get those things in for us. Love you always Grandma and thank-you for always being yourself xxxxxxxxxxxx
